Boon Tong Kee, begin as a small stall in Chinatown, serving Cantonese Chicken Rice way back in 1979 by Mr Thian Boon Hua. His famous silky white sauce chicken rice has helped to build his popularity and soon after, Mr Thian gathered his family members and together, they establish the first Boon Tong Kee Restaurant in 1983, at Balestier Road.
The restaurant quickly starts to garner attentions from industry luminaries / customers and received rave reviews and accolades during its second year of operations. Subsequently, outlets at MacPherson Road, River Valley Road, Whampoa West, East Coast Road and Cheong Chin Nam Road followed in rapid succession.
To meet the constant and ever changing demands from their customer, in 1999 Boon Tong Kee diversified their operations to include “Zi Char” dishes to their offerings.
